The Medium is the message
If we boil it down, it is not the cover of the book that is interesting. After all, a book all on its lonesome is just paper with a cover with ink inside. We need a person to make sense of the ink to realize that the cover is trying to convey something and that the ink can be read as words. What really matters is the interactions between the person observing the book and the different attributes of the book mixing with the memories, biases and attention of the observer. From this, opinions, preferences and actions will be born.
And as a basis for my design philosophy, this tells us a few things. The creative power and skill of the designer can make a huge impression with their work. And the design, if vague or confused, can result in the media and message being lost in translation. With this in mind, we can now design with the express goal of creating clean and competent designs that strongly resonates with the observer and conveys the intentions behind the message. And this is where I come in!

Liseberg Colorized
Celebrating 100 years, Liseberg commissioned a commemorative book detailing the history of the amusement park.
I was appointed to colorize the black and white photographs using historical records to bring new life into these incredible pictures.

Book cover illustration for a novel written by my brother. The book follows August and his friends at a company party where he hides from his boss beneath a couch and listens to the party guests. The book is absurd and hilarious, and I designed the front cover illustration!
